Essence XXXL Shine Lipgloss 021 Red Blossom Review, Pictures and Swatch
|Essence XXXL Shine Lipgloss 021 Red Blossom Review|
I am reviewing a pretty red color lipgloss from Essence XXXL Shine lipgloss range. I have tried a bunch of Essence lipsticks but it's very first time, i have tried any of their lipgloss. Let's zoom in:
What Brand says:Ultra shiny lipgloss, moisturising and non-sticky.
Price:229/-INR for 5 ml
Shelf Life:36 months
Ingredients:Not mentioned on Pack
Made in Germany
My experience with this Lipgloss:
It comes with a long wand with spongy- fibrous slant applicator. The applicator wand looks nice but really not the best i have had used. Specially for the upper lip, i find it too stiff for an easy application.

Fragrance:The lipgloss does have a yummy delicious scent which takes over your senses when you open the cap. But the scents fades as you apply it on lips, leaving just a subtle hint nothing bothersome.
Color & Pigmentation:This shade 021 Red Blossom is a bright red with very fine milled gold and red shimmers in it. You may notice the shimmer dust in the hand swatch but on the lips it is not at all visible, so no worries, it only helps to add that super lustrous shine to the lips. The formula of the lipgloss is sheer, so it's not going to cover any lip darkness/pigmentation at all. The lipgloss delivers a glossy red tint to the lips in one coat, which can be build up by adding a second layer. With two coats the color payoff gets decent, the color comes brighter and darker yeah like a proper lipgloss but it still won't cover too dark lips as i mentioned, the formula is sheer. Because of the sheer formula, how the color comes on one's lip depends on your lips color that is the level of pigmentation you have on lips.
I have pigmentation around the lip corner and my upper lip is pigmented, so the color looks more sort of a bright cherry kind on me. Though you will notice in the hand swatch the shade appears to be bright crimson red. Nevertheless it is beautiful red shade that brightens up the complexion and would suit a lot of skin tones. Those of you who love sheer formula would definitely admire this one.

Formula & Finish:As i mentioned earlier it has a sheer formula, it's very moisturising which delivers a super shiny, glossy finish. It does have a slight gel like feel to it, it's not stick-y though but still. If you have bangs like me, be sure they are going to come and hug your lips :P (not too much though). But that's okay! it happens with most of the glosses :D
Lasting Stay:It stays on my lips for about 3-3.5 hour, when i don't eat anything in between and leaves a hint of rosy tint on lips when fades. The lipgloss almost wipes at the moment you eat, though it leaves a hint of color on the lips.
Affordability:It's pretty inexpensive for the price on offer, the quality is decent and the tube has enough quantity of the gloss. So yes quite an eye catcher for the price on offer and that fat round big gloss tube surely attracts!
Pros:1. Simple and practical tube packaging, travel friendly
2. Have delicious sweet fragrance
3. Beautiful bright red shade
4. Delivery super shiny, glossy lips
5. Keeps lips feeling supple and moisturised
6. It's a good buy for those who love sheer formula
7. Inexpensive and decent quantity
Cons:1. Applicator wand is way too stiff
2. Won't cover any level of dark pigmentation
3. Wipes away almost as soon as you eat something
4. Ingredients not mentioned on pack
Verdict: Essence XXXL shine lipgloss 21 Red Blossom, if i summarize is a pretty decent buy for the price. The quality is decent, the amount of product/quantity is pretty decent for the price. The packaging is not at all cheap looking but simple and practical though i find the applicator wand to stuff for ease of application, i wish it was a little flexible. The lipgloss have a sheer formula though you can achieve decent pigmentation with two coats, it's a good option for those who prefer sheer formula and because of the formula, also a good bet for teenagers too. I would not recommend these to any one having to much dark pigmentation problem, as it's simply not going to cover it. The shade 21 Red Blossom is a very pretty bright red shade, it looks more like a bright crimson red on hand swatch, but how it looks on one's lip lot depend on your natural lip color and level of pigmentation on your lips. Anyhow it's a very pretty shade that instantly perk up the complexion and would suit a lot of skin tones. I only wish it could survive food atleast a bit as it fades almost when you eat.
I hope you find this review helpful enough. Leave me a comment to let me know, what you think.
