Festive Makeup: My Look for Navratri/Dandia Night

Shubh Navratri to all of you!

I am a bit late in publishing Navratri makeup look nevertheless still three auspicious days of navratri are remaining, so here is my look for navratri celebration and dandiya night :)) Other than puja, prayers and fasting.. getting dressed up for puja and for dancing in garba or dandiya night is something specially we girls look forward to.

I created this look, keeping in my mind the makeup trend for the season and festival as well. Let's break down the look:

Face: Keeping in mind all the fun and dancing, i wanted a natural, light and glow-y skin look for the base makeup. To achieve this, after prep and priming facial skin, apply a sheer to light coverage foundation and cover any dark spots gently with a concealer. I used MAC Face and Body foundation for this look, you can wear your favorite BB creme, also i recommend MUFE face and body foundation which is as good as MAC face and body. Apply a peach color cream blush for a healthy wash of natural flush, i recommend cream bush as it stays longer and so apt for the occasion when you'll be dancing all night. Gently swirl a translucent powder over, to set this. I used Kryolan Translucent loose powder, which is my all time favorite and HG product :)

Eyes: Start by priming your eye area with a eyelid primer. For this look i used Elf Beauty Book Smoky Look.  I Used day highlight shade from the palette to highlight the brow bone area, also apply this eyeshadow on the inner half of the lid area with the help of a flat eyeshadow brush. If you don't have this beauty book, basically it a pale creme color, you can use any similar shadow. I blended the day base shadow on the outer half of the crease area as a transition color with Real techniques deluxe crease brush. On a pencil brush, take the day contour shade and trace outer 1/3rd of the crease line. With back and forth movement blend the color right there first then slightly blend it down towards the outer half of the eyelid. Keep layering and blending to get your desired intensity. Take the Night contour shade on the same pencil brush, to define the outer lid corner slightly blending it inwards. Blend the same shadow on the outer half of the lower lashine. Tightline and apply kohl on the waterline and slightly smudge it for a classic Indian kohl rimmed eyes. Apply the kohl again in the waterline for a intense black color. Apply your favorite mascara.

Now it's a festive look, so you definitely need a hint of bling right? Pat a beige color pigment over the inner 1/2 of eyelid area where we applied day highlight shadow earlier. The eyes are done!

Lips: Overall the look has been kept pretty natural and muted, with focus on eyes and natural skin. Continuing with the idea, apply a nude color lipliner to trace your lipline and blend it with a lip brush. Now apply Lakme Absolute matte 207 Peach Carnation lipstick for that nice sophisticated look. In case you want a brighter look just apply any bright shade as per your choice!

The makeup is done! To finish the look i wore a maang teeka, which actually is a baju band :D
